How we sort & what “certified” means
Where the listings come from
Every listing is a live eBay listing found through eBay’s own search interface for “Noel Gallagher” combined with “signed”, “autograph” or “autographed”. We keep Buy It Now listings priced from £100, and we require the name to appear in the listing title. The page is refreshed about once a day.
How the sections are made
Each listing is placed in a section from the words in its title, using fixed rules checked in this order: guitars and drum items, shirts, vinyl and records, books and programmes, posters and prints, then photos. A listing that says “signed guitar photo” goes under guitars. A section needs at least 3 listings to exist; smaller ones are merged into “Other memorabilia”. Sections are ordered from the biggest to the smallest, and the page title lists the three biggest, so it changes as the available items change.
How listings are ordered
Inside a section the order is eBay’s own relevance order. It is not influenced by commission or by sellers. “Sort by price” re-orders only the listings shown on the page (40 per section at most); the rest are one click away on eBay.
What “certified” means
The “COA” badge and the “Certified only” filter rely on words in the seller’s title: certificate, COA, authenticated, PSA, JSA, Beckett, ACOA, UACC and similar. It tells you the seller claims some form of proof. We have not verified it, and a seller-issued certificate is worth much less than authentication by an independent service.
Why the certified option exists
Forged and pre-printed signatures are common in this market, and a signature alone proves nothing. Starting with listings that mention a certificate or independent authentication saves time. Before you buy: ask for a photo of the certificate and of the signature, check that the certificate number matches, read the returns policy, and be wary of prices far below the rest of the section.
What we cannot filter
Some listings sell a pre-printed or reproduction signature without saying so clearly in the title, and some sold items stay visible for a few hours. Always read the full eBay description.
Links to eBay are affiliate links: if you buy, eBay pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. It does not change which listings are shown or in which order.
